The Maryland Stadium Authority is about to begin construction on the Hagerstown Multi-Use Sports & Events Facility, on the lands bounded by Summit Avenue and W. Baltimore Street. This project, which is expected to run until the spring of 2024, will impact a portion of the Hagerstown Cultural Trail. Beginning the week of July 25th, the City will take the following actions in preparation for the construction:
- July 27th – the RISE art sculpture and the shade structure near the Baltimore Street Auto Spa will be removed and stored for future reinstallation
- Week of July 31st – removal of lights, trash cans, and benches from the construction area; some of the landscaping will be removed and transplanted at other park locations.
All work will be completed by August 10th; the Maryland Stadium Authority will then take control of the area and begin construction of the proposed stadium.
Please contact the office of the City Engineer at (301) 739-8577 ext. 125 if you have any questions regarding this advisory.
