First Installation for the HHA Sculptural Playscape – As the first sculptor to create work for the HHA playscape, Alison will be fitting her work to the site, its vision of an all-ages interactive zone, the design of the parklet, and two other major artworks: an artistic plasma-cut Corten steel fence by Vicki Scuri and the towering Mural of Unusual Size by HENSE.
Bio: Alison studied theater and lighting design at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and received degrees in Interior Design and Art History from Marymount University. She worked as a lighting designer and art director before taking up glass full time in 2003. She is on the faculty at the Washington Glass School, is a Torpedo Factory Resident Artist, and was the Torpedo Factory Artist of the Year with Marsha Staiger in 2010.
